McMaster University Multifaith Resources

Welcome to Mac!

Are you looking for spiritual or faith-based resources at Mac or in Hamilton?

Whether you…

…have come to Mac with a deep commitment to your spiritual and religious beliefs,

…are finding your faith challenged by the new experiences of university life,

…want to engage in dialogue with people whose traditions differ from your own,

…or you are just beginning to explore your faith,

…we are here to help you make connections!

We’ve tapped into the vibrant McMaster community in order to share the wide variety of faith-based resources that are available to you on and off campus.  So if you’re looking for a place to pray, worship or meditate, a safe space to discuss the interfaith issues that impact your life or if you just want to know where to go for lunch, this website is here to help

Who are we?

PACBIC

The McMaster Multifaith Resources website is an idea that started with the Interfaith Issues Working Group of the President’s Advisory Committee on Building an Inclusive Community, also known as PACBIC.  PACBIC works to advance the University’s 3rd strategic goal: “building an inclusive community with a shared purpose.”

The Interfaith Issues Working Group is mandated to:

  1. make recommendations on emerging interfaith issues on campus.
  2. establish suitable interfaith gathering and prayer spaces on campus
  3. consider ways to ensure that reasonably priced and diverse food choices are available to all members of the campus community, including choices for those with specific religious dietary requirements.

Since space is at a premium on campus, this site will provide a virtual place for us to meet and share ideas as we continue to work on our goal of establishing a more permanent mutli-faith centre at Mac.
